The Original #HailSatan Incident (with Ashley's testimony)

Posted on 13:43 by Unknown

Yesterday, we obviously made a splash with the video of the pro-abortion supporter saying 'Hail Satan;' the video had a lot of background noise, and yesterday we said:
For the record: They've been doing this all day, this is just the first time we caught it on video.
Well guess what, it turns out we have video of the original incident.

So here's the full story, as best we can recall: Around 3 pm, we got up from posting this video and went downstairs by the area near the committee room.  Arriving on the second floor of the capitol extension, we met up with our friend D.J, who was watching women testify with LetTexasSpeak.com.  At that time LTS was broadcasting from a corner on the second floor.

Ashley joined us 20 minutes later, around 3:30.  We continued to listen to the women testify until there were too many people in the corner.  At that point, DPS asked us to move outside, which was when Ashley decided to speak.  We're not sure what time DPS asked us to move, but we were already outside by 4:05 pm when we decided to not watch Glenn Beck because we thought Stu was guest hosting.

20-30 minutes later, Ashley got up to speak.  As you can tell, her testimony is VERY powerful.  The crowd was transfixed, including the pro-abortion people.

As Ashley spoke, a few of the pro-abortion people started saying 'hail Satan' at random.  The first time we heard it was at 3:35 of this second video.  By 5:15, they're chanting it in unison, VERY creepily:

(Author's note: Ashley asked us to point out that she misspoke when she said abortion kills 1.3 people in the United States each year; she meant to say 1.3 million.)

The video posted yesterday took place around 6:30 pm.  This took place around 4:30.  The pro-abortion people were intermittently chanting "hail satan" throughout.

We met Ashley last summer, when the President was in town; to see the footage of the Barack Obama supporter who verbally accosted her that time, click here.

Texas Capital Abortion Supporters chant "Hail Satan"

Posted on 18:16 by Unknown

It's been a very interesting day at the Texas State Capitol.  Cahnman's Musings hasn't been following the hearing.  Instead, we've been participating in the surrounding events.  LetTexasSpeak has been doing a live broadcast from the rotunda where women have been sharing their abortion related testimonies.  The pro-abortion crowd has responded with repeated chants of "hail Satan."  It's taken us all day to get a video recording, but here it is:

For the record: They've been doing this all day, this is just the first time we caught it on video.

-----

Update: Twitchy has more.

-----

Update II: The Blaze has a report that includes pictures of the people who were leading the chant.

-----

Update III (7/5): Thomas Umstattd, who ran Let Texas Speak, gives his account here.

A Different Picture Today at Texas Capitol

Posted on 12:50 by Unknown
Owly Images

Cahnman's Musings took this video outside the committee room two hours before today's hearing began; as you can see, the pro-life people (in blue) are lined up around the corner:

This is obviously a stark contrast with last week.

-----

Update (2:56 P.M): We've been sitting in the hall right next to the pro-Abortion staging area as we've uploaded this post, even here the crowd is 50/50

The Intellectual Maturity of Pro-Abortion Activists

Posted on 08:29 by Unknown

In these serious times at the Texas Capitol, what does the Huffington Post propose?!?

Texas Women: Stop Having Sex With Men Who Vote Against Your Best Interests

The article is written by Vivian Norris de Montaigu, whose bio states:
Vivian Norris is based in Paris and holds a PhD, focusing on Globalization Studies, and wrote a dissertation on Globalization and Media.
Apparently a native Texan, the Parisian by choice has a proposal for Texas Women:
How perfectly patriarchal, these Texas men trying to not hear what women want have shown themselves to be, but how incredibly out of touch with today's reality....Sultry, sweaty summers can be made much nicer when good old-fashioned sex is part of the picture. But women, take heed: Don't give in if your man, boyfriend, husband, toyboy is not voting for your best interests, your reproductive health -- do not sleep with that man!
Instead, make politics your sex life:
Do not make him dinner, do not go fetch him a cold beer from the fridge, do not iron that shirt, hell, do not change that diaper... do not make his life a little nicer this summer if he does not "get it" and learn to respect women! Instead, volunteer some time for senators like Wendy Davis, go with a group of women to Austin and make your voices heard. Get on the computer and the social networks and organize.
Because George W. Bush hates ovaries:
Remember what happened last time when a Texas good ole boy governor took that patriarchy all the way to become President of the United States.
But don't listen to those counter-revolutionary Texas Women:
[M]en in Texas who have not woken up and smelled the coffee simply do not deserve any loving. Houston has more strip clubs than libraries. You can buy a gun easier than you can get reproductive health care. There is still a virgin and whore fundamentalist mentality which is more dangerous to women as it often is also promoted by the women themselves. These women, like women who hurt other women everywhere by criticizing and judging them, need to wake up as well. Women hurting other women is suicidal. Women who play into the hand of patriarchy need to be shown the way out of that prison. Wendy Davis and Leticia Van De Putte and others are leading the way.
After threatening counter-revolutionary Texas Women, she then makes one of the most ironic statements of all time:
The GOP will threaten and they will use silence and fear against anyone who challenges what is an outdated and unhealthy and dangerous system which abuses power against more than half of the citizens of Texas.
Says the woman who just threatened her counter-revolutionary co-genderites.

There's not a lot to say in response.  Norris' piece is based on the assumption that women are normally so promiscuous that a 'sex strike' is a realistic option.  And that's just sad, and not true.

Abortion Industry Victims Share Testimony in Austin

Posted on 18:34 by Unknown

This morning, Cahnman's Musings attended a press conference sponsored by Texas Justice Foundation, a non-profit that helps women recover from abortion.  The Justice Foundation is submitting 900 written testimonies in two volumes in support of the pro-life legislation in front of the Texas Legislature.  At the press conference, seven women shared their stories of horrific abortion experiences that the legislation under consideration would prevent.

Before the press conference, a pro-abortion protestor briefly attempted to interrupt.  She was screaming something about patriarchy.   She didn't speak long enough for us to even pull out our cell phone.

(Author's note: The written word cannot do this testimony justice.  Unfortunately, the video footage of this event in the Senate Archives is not compatible with this website's software.  Thus, our written notes will have to suffice.)

First up was Molly White, of Texas Operation Outcry.  She told how the clinic staff lied to her then left her to bleed out in an alley.  Since her abortion, she's had two miscarriages, 1 stillborn baby, and a hysterectomy.

Next up was Myra Myers.  After her abortion, the abortionist told her "Good news, you no longer have a baby."  Need we say more?!?

After that was Penny.  Unfortunately, we didn't write down her last name.  During her abortion, the attendants didn't allow her to see the ultrasound.  She had been pressured and lied to by the father.  She wanted "to protect women from being led down the same devastating path" she had been.

Patricia Luck-Graham, a star high-school athlete, was forced to abort by her parents when she was 16.  She then had multiple abortions in college.  She said, at the time, people kept asking her 'you're a star athlete, what are you going to do with a baby?!?'

Toni McKinley was drugged against her will by an abortionist who performed the procedure while she was out cold.

Julie Ziglar Norman, daughter of famed business coach Zig Ziglar, told how she began getting free birth control at 14.  When the birth control ultimately failed (which, by law of averages, it eventually will), she had two secret abortions at age 25 and 27. Her abortionist told her: "I love stupid women like you."

One line stood out: "During the thirteen years I hid from my abortion I became very pro-Choice; otherwise I would have had to admit to myself that I killed my own child."  Unfortunately, we didn't write down who said that.

After the women spoke, Representative Steve Toth and Dr./Senator Donnna Campbell briefly addressed the crowd.  Representative Toth said that the Harris County D.A. refusing to investigate the late-term abortion facility recently uncovered in Houston.

Dr./Senator Campbell, who had just driven in from a 72 hour shift in the emergency room, is the mother of four adopted children.  As an emergency room physician, she's treated scores (if not hundreds) of abortion victims.  She discussed how the practice of medicine has always treated the unborn child as a patient, except when "a predatory abortion industry" wants "to protect their cash cow."

Cahnman's Musings highly recommends you watch the whole thing, via the Texas Senate archives, here.

In quest for mainstream acceptance in Texas, pro-abortion forces turn to...the Dixie Chicks?!?

Now that's a way to convince Texans you share their values:

If you don't remember the Dixie Chicks' history, you can read it here.
